Established in 1982, the Huron Shore Genealogical Society (HSGS), Iosco County Michigan has compiled over 1,400 indexes containing over 1.6 million indexed names. These indexes can be accessed via the main HSGS index page. You can also buy all of them on a CD (MS-Word format) from HSGS for $10.00, postpaid. HSGS Newsletters are also availble online. HSGS is located in the Parks Library in Oscoda Michigan.

OUR NEXT UPCOMING EVENT 

IMMIGRATION & NATURALIZATION Saturday, May 4, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm – at the Robert Parks Public Library, 6010 N. Skeel Ave, Oscoda, MI.

The speakers will be Kris Rzepczynski, from the Michigan State Archives and Ceil Wendt Jensen, Director of the Polonia American Research Institute.

The program is free and open to the public. Lunch is brown bag, HSGS will provide snacks, water, coffee and dessert.

Membership
$10.00 per year and $2.00 for each additional family member joining. Dues are an additional $2.00 if you wish to have the newsletter mailed rather than receiving it by email.

Meetings
Quarterly on the third Thursday of the months of January, April, July, October at 5:30 pm at the Different Blend Coffee House, 513 W. Bay St. (US 23), East Tawas, MI (on the south side of the highway between next to the city park and the Museum). Meetings are open to the public.

Research for a fee
Society will do or arrange for any genealogical research to be done in Iosco County, MI. The fee is $25.00 for the first two hours. Additional time and fees negotiable.

If you have a larger research job which our volunteers can not accomplish, the society will recommend a genealogical researcher who we feel is qualified to do the research. In this situation you and the researcher will make your own arrangements.
